Christine MacDonald
REALTOR®
Christine is a native Rhode Islander, growing up in Barrington and later attending Winthrop University in South Carolina where she pursued a degree in Interior Design. Upon her return to Rhode Island, she began a career with the Providence Journal and eventually transferred to Aquidneck Island as the Editorial Assistant for its Newport News Bureau. Later, once the paper began closing its news bureaus, she earned a degree in English at URI while writing for Newport Life Magazine.
With her career set on Aquidneck Island, she and her family settled in Portsmouth, and through both work and family activities, Christine quickly gained a thorough knowledge of the community at large and the many neighborhoods throughout Newport County.
For more than 30 years she has volunteered in a variety of capacities including being a past member of the Junior League of Rhode Island, a former member of the Board of Trustees at The Penn/eld School, past chairman of Entertainment at the Newport Yacht Club and presently, as a member and co-chair of the Doris Duke Preservation Awards committee since 2006. You may also recall seeing her at Newport International Polo where she has managed the ticket gates since the mid-1990s.
Now in her eighth year in real estate, she has placed numerous individuals in homes across the county, state, and nearby Massachusetts. She looks forward to continuing to find the perfect home for her client’s needs in her role as an agent with The Newport Group, a luxury division of Coldwell Banker® located here in Newport.
